[UPDATED 12:00 PM 5/17/22] Normal’s own Leah Marlene returns Tuesday, May 17 for a Hometown Concert to be filmed for the show’s finale!
Leah will greet everyone through a parade in route to her performance in Uptown Normal and Mayor Chris Koos will issue a Proclamation designating the date as “Leah Marlene Day.”
Here’s what you need to know:
- Uptown Normal street parking will begin to close in sections starting at 12:30 PM through 3:00 PM
- See road closure info below
- Staging area set up, in front of Normal Theater, has already begun
- The parade route will be along East Beaufort Street starting a 6:00 PM
- Outdoor concert will take place in Uptown approx. at 7:30 PM
- Entrance to concert area will be at the intersection of North Street and Uptown Circle.
- Backpacks, purses and other non-essential bags are prohibited within the concert area
- All times are subject to change!

Road Closure Information for May 17 (from Town of Normal)

- North Street from Broadway to Fell Avenue will be closed by 9 a.m. and reopened following the concert as soon as safely possible (estimated around 10:30 p.m.)
- North Street from Uptown Circle to the intersection of Broadway will be signed No Parking after noon, closed at 1 p.m., and reopened following the concert as soon as safely possible (estimated around 10:30 p.m.)
- E Beaufort Street from Linden to Uptown Circle, and including Uptown Circle will be signed No Parking after 3 p.m., closed at 4 p.m., and reopened following the concert as soon as safely possible (estimated around 9 p.m.)
- Eastern-most portion of Trail East Lot will be closed by 9 a.m, and reopened following the procession (estimated 7 p.m.)
- Constitution Blvd from College Ave to Uptown Circle will be signed No Parking after 3 p.m., closed at 4 p.m., and reopened following the procession (estimated 7 p.m.)
Parking
With the exception of a portion of the Trail East lot (as noted above), the usual Uptown parking options will be available.
