Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike will star in Netflix’s romantic-comedy Ladies First. The film, based on a French movie, follows a womanizer thrust into a female-dominated society, with no release date confirmed.


Nicholas Pryor, the actor best known for roles in classic films like Risky Business and Less Than Zero, as well as the TV series Beverly Hills, 90210 and several soap operas, passed away after a cancer battle on Monday at 89.


Max’s adult animated series Velma has been canceled after two seasons. Mindy Kaling starred as the beloved Scooby-Doo character. The prequel series followed Velma and the other members of Mystery Inc. as high school kids.


Nate Bargatze, fresh off a stint on Amazon, is returning to Netflix with a pair of stand-up specials. His next, Your Friend, Nate Bargatze, will debut on December 24, with another special scheduled for release in 2025 or later.


Amazon renewed Reacher for Season 4 ahead of Season 3’s 2025 release. The action crime series, based on Lee Child’s novels, stars Alan Ritchson and features returning cast members Maria Sten and Anthony Michael Hall.


Jonathan Groff will star as Bobby Darin in the new musical Just in Time on Broadway. The show, produced by Groff, begins previews March 28, 2025, with an opening scheduled for April 3 at the Circle in the Square Theatre.


Aaron Pierre has been cast as Green Lantern John Stewart in the much-anticipated series Lanterns by DC Studios and HBO. The highly-coveted role carries particular significance as Stewart is one of DC’s first Black superheroes.


Local TV stations still want to reclaim the 10 p.m. hour from the major networks, with talks dating back to the ’90s. Stations are motivated by networks prioritizing streaming and the need to strengthen their own programming.
